Startup Guide
So, you want to start your own company and produce your own brand new line of clothing? Well,
that's a lot harder than some would make it out to be. You may have dealt with China before and know that all you have to do
is send them something and they magically make a duplicate piece appear out of thin air. Unfortunately, Mexico does not work that way.
In America, we need to make patterns and source fabric to start clothing lines. We need to prepare samples and really do our research.
That's where we come in. You probably don't have four patternmakers in your phonebook, or hundreds of fabric companies that sell
everything from cotton to spandex to buttons and snap to lace and trim. We've got the resources and love to share them with new companies.
Here's how it works. You need a sample to go by. You need one piece of the thing you're trying to manufacture, or at least a very detailed sketch with measurements.
You send that to us, and our professional team of consultants based in Los Angeles will do all the work. Years of research and making connections doesn't come free though.
Our consultants charge an hourly rate of $115.00 per hour. For a fairly simple product, they may only need a few hours. On the other hand, it could take them
10 or 20 hours. For the average project, we promise not to exceed 20 hours. We don't want to waste your time anyways. We aren't a consulting company, we're a manufacturing
company. We want to prove to you that our manufacturing services are the best out there and not waste your time getting all the details straight.
Of course, you could still send your product off to China to avoid these costs. They'll send you back something that looks really similar to what you sent them.
The difference is that their product will have some visible and some invisible work-arounds. They'll use fewer threads and cut corners anywhere they can to save a dime.
And when you go into production, it may not be the same as what they've already sent you. And let's not forget that your product will be sitting on a boat in the Pacific for
six weeks while you're just twiddling your thumbs.
Yeah, it may cost you a bit more to get started on the US side, but you'll learn as you go along. You'll learn about different types of fabric and how patterns are made
and it will make you and your future business that much stronger because you won't have to depend on anyone but yourself. That alone will be worth the investment.
So do yourself a favor and head to the Contact page. Just let us know that you're a startup, and while you may
not know what you're doing, you're ready to do it anyways.
